Nissan Philippines started its partnership with the Department of Tourism in 2015 to promote local tourism, utilizing Nissan vehicles to explore our beautiful country. Within the eight-year collaboration, both parties have successfully executed projects like “Visit the Philippines, Drive to Discover with Nissan,” as well as the “Safe Trips” campaign during the pandemic, which inspired Filipinos to break out of their cooped-up state.
This year, Nissan Philippines and the DOT are once again refreshing that partnership as a new Memorandum of Agreement was signed by DOT undersecretary Myra Paz-Abubakar.
Paz-Abubakar expressed her appreciation toward Nissan as both entities share a common goal of promoting Philippine tourism not just locally, but also internationally.
Called “Drive Pinas,” the joint program aims to further promote and explore the growing tourism destinations in the Philippines.
Mobility is a crucial ingredient in the tourism industry. Combined with Nissan’s innovations in mobility, exploring our beautiful archipelago is made more convenient, sustainable, inclusive, and fun.
“While the Department of Tourism already has a strong vision to make locals and tourists alike love the Philippines even more, like I do, Nissan supports this vision with our commitment to creating innovative vehicles and technologies to add excitement to these journeys, all while leaving a positive impact on society and environment,” said Nissan Philippines president Juan Manuel Hoyos.
We suppose tourists can expect to see more of Nissan’s presence in what appears to be a vibrant rebirth of leisure travel across the country.
