The Swiss team will be rebranded as Audi

Silly season isn’t over in Formula 1 as it has just been announced that Nico Hulkenberg will be leaving Haas at the end of this season. The German driver will be driving for Sauber starting next year, with the team rebranding as Audi in 2026.

“The prospect of competing for Audi is something very special,” said Hulkenberg. “When a German manufacturer enters Formula 1 with such determination, it is a unique opportunity. To represent the factory team of such a car brand with a power unit made in Germany is a great honor for me.”

Now that one seat is filled, the question is who will take the other one. Carlos Sainz is the biggest candidate with the driver receiving “a very lucrative offer” that, according to Helmut Marko, Red Bull can’t match. But should the Spaniard refuse, there are other options on the table.

Who do you think will partner Hulkenberg?
