Take a look at the first-ever Kick Sauber C44

To be piloted by Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu this season

The silliest season of Formula 1 is turning out to be 2024. Amid all the shock moves, the application merry-go-rounds, and the sexual harassment allegations came two team rebrands that nobody asked for.

Aside from Visa Cash App RB, the rebranding of the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 team to Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber essentially, um, kick-started this entire season of madness.

We hope these upgrades actually make a big difference. PHOTOS FROM FORMULA 1

Most of the 2024 cars are nothing home to write about since they’re minor updates compared to their 2023 speed machines apart from obvious livery changes, but the Kick Sauber C44 is definitely worth noticing.

Aside from the black-and-green livery reminiscent of Monster Energy drinks or Razer gaming products, Sauber says that this vehicle features major changes such as the introduction of pull-rod suspension, revised side pods, engine cover, and a new floor—all to help chase faster lap times.

Will other competitors be seeing this more often, or will it be resigned to being a backmarker again? PHOTO FROM FORMULA 1

More updates will be introduced in the opening rounds, but the same driver lineup of Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu will be piloting these mean, green race cars.

We hope that the Ben 10-esque race cars will prove to be a solid foundation for Audi to build on once it joins the fray in 2026. In the meantime, preseason testing on February 21 to 23 will see these cars in action before they hit the Bahrain circuit on March 2.
