The Civic is arguably the most important model of Honda, especially in the USA, where more than 12 million units have been sold. It is currently in its 11th generation, and for model year 2025, Honda USA will be introducing hybrid variants for the sedan and the hatchback.

The 2025 Civic will come in four trims. The LX (which is sedan-only) and the Sport are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. Meanwhile, the Sport Hybrid and the Sport Touring Hybrid will get Honda’s two-motor hybrid system.

With 200hp and 314Nm of torque, the hybrid is said to be the most powerful iteration of the Civic that isn’t a Type R. It will have four levels of regenerative braking, as well as different driving modes that adjust the powertrain response, the steering-assist level, and the gauge cluster layout.

While all trims now have USB-C ports at the front, the Sport Touring Hybrid gets leather seats, a nine-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 12-speaker audio system by Bose. The top-of-the-line variant will also feature a personal digital assistant with Google built-in.

According to Honda USA, it expects the hybrid variants to comprise around 40% of all Civic sales. This is part of its bid to achieve 100% zero-emissions vehicle sales by 2040. Considering the perks of electrified vehicles in our country, do you think Honda Cars Philippines should bring in a hybrid Civic?
