The most enduring and most popular video-game franchise for all generations of players and gamers, Gran Turismo 7, gets its first update for 2024. Patch 1.42 is now available to download. There are three new cars, new scapes, and new events in this update.
We finally get the Bulgari Aluminum Vision Gran Turismo that can be bought at Brand Central by the end of February. We will also finally get the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo that can already be bought after updating at Brand Central.
We’ve taken an in-depth look at both cars previously, so it’s great that both are finally becoming available to play.
The big news for many fans—particularly petrolheads—is the availability of the Jimny (XC ’18), available immediately after updating at Brand Central. The Jimny is a kei off-roader in Japan popular for both enthusiasts and commuters living in tight urban spaces.
It loses its wheel flares in the game as well as the 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine (which we see in the international version), but instead gains a 660cc turbocharged three-cylinder engine that gives it more tunability and power potential. Of course, modifying is a huge appeal of this game.
Aside from the cars, the latest update brings new events, like the Jimny Cup with three legs at Sardegna-Windmills, Willow Springs International Raceway, and Lake Louise.
Other additions are new events for the Vision Gran Turismo Trophy spread over Tokyo Expressway and Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
Additionally, there are new menus in the café section. There is Menu No. 34: “Nissan Motorsports Collection” for Collector Level 46 and higher. Next up is Menu No. 35: “Dodge” intended for Collector Level 32 and up.
Lastly are the newest Scapes additions; “Service Area” and “Turn the Camera Vertically” have been added.
With continuous updates, it’s no wonder GT7 is the standard by which all other racing games are judged.
