While the Subaru WRX STI has been officially dead since March 2022, the manufacturer is seemingly churning out different versions of its WRX sedan—like the WRX TR, which features larger 19-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, retuned suspension and steering rack, and weight savings.
Not exactly the large-spoiler-equipped, pink-badged STI models of yore. Subaru plans to launch yet another model called the WRX S4 STI Sport# (pronounced as ‘Sport Sharp’), which is an enhanced version of the WRX S4 STI Sport R EX with “enhanced handling and a premium drive feel” that is scheduled to go on sale for the Japanese market as a limited run.

Subaru will also be displaying these other vehicles at its booth:
- BRZ STI performance
- Levorg Layback STI performance
- BRZ GT300 (2023)
- WRX NBR Challenge (2024)
- Team SDA Engineering BRZ CNF Concept
More details on the WRX S4 STI Sport# will be revealed when the Tokyo Auto Salon formally opens next year on January 12-24 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.
