While the majority of the world is still recovering from the hype that the 2023 Japan Mobility Show delivered, the Japanese are now preparing for the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon that will take place at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba this coming January 12–14.
Nissan is coming in strong with a large lineup of vehicles to show off, starting with the e-4orce 04 Formula E race car, which was unveiled back in December 2022. This car will participate in the Tokyo round of the Formula E Championship in March 2024.
Next up on the list is the Disaster Support Mobile-Hub, a highly modified Urvan designed to act as a mobile support vehicle during natural disasters.
It comes complete with a lift, additional off-road bits, and multiple sets of portable batteries (taken from a Nissan Leaf) to act as an emergency power supply for areas without electricity.
Then, there are two customized common vehicles, specifically the Roox Beams Customized Concept and the March Customized Concept.
The former is a collaboration with specialty fashion boutique Beams, where denim fabric is used on the exterior and the interior for a “playful approach” to the cabin.
Meanwhile, the latter is a follow-up on the Cube Refreshed and Retro Concept shown at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon. This used car has been tailored to a pastry chef’s preferences.
Then, the big reveal for that show is the X-Trail Crawler Concept, which, as its name implies, is a “boosted off-road” variant of the X-Trail, capable of tackling rough terrain that the normal SUV can’t handle.
Also, Nissan will have two Autech models on display: the X-Trail Autech and the Serena Autech (including the three newest Nismo models, the GT-R Nismo, the Fairlady Z Nismo, and the Skyline Nismo).
