PIMS 2024: A meaner Ranger Raptor takes center stage at Ford PH display

Ford Philippines makes a splash as it joins this year’s Philippine International Motor Show. The American carmaker has one of the biggest display areas in the show.

There, you’ll see the usual crop of Fords you can think of. Present are the volume sellers Everest and Territory on one side, while there are the flagship models (the Bronco, the Explorer, and the Mustang) on the other.

But right in the middle, sitting on top of a pedestal, is the new Ranger Raptor 3.0L V6. It looks exactly like a normal Ranger Raptor, save for a teeny little detail at the back.

Two exhaust pipes bookend both sides of the back, giving you an idea about what’s special with this new variant. Doing duty under the hood is a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. It makes 391hp and 583Nm of torque, thanks to its two turbochargers. This even has an anti-lag system when Baja Mode is engaged.

Power is transferred to all four wheels through an electronically controlled four-wheel drive system, with front and rear locking differentials. The Ranger Raptor 3.0L V6 even has an active exhaust system that can turn up or tone down the rumbles of the engine.

Speaking of sounds, enjoy a different aural experience thanks to a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system. A special MyMode R button lets you personalize vehicle settings like steering, suspension, exhaust mode, engine auto stop/start activation, drive modes, and rear differential settings.

The Ranger Raptor 3.0L V6 sells for P2,739,000, and only 300 units will be sold at launch.

More than the cars on display, visitors can also try the brand’s different offerings, while special PIMS-exclusive promos would be offered to prospective buyers.

So, if you want to see all of Ford’s offerings in the metal, try them, or take advantage of various promotions, you can visit this year’s PIMS at World Trade Center until October 27.
