Aside from an onslaught of Chinese cars and trucks at the upcoming 2023 Manila International Auto Show next weekend, expect one Euro brand to come out swinging with its own electric vehicle.

Peugeot will be previewing the e-2008 at MIAS. It’s a tidy little SUV with a 97kW (130hp) motor and a theoretical driving range of 345km. Take note that Peugeot will only be unveiling the car, but not putting it up for sale yet as it likely wants to gauge the market demand first.

“The unveiling of the Peugeot e-2008 at MIAS is intended to give our customers a glimpse into the electrification of the Peugeot lineup,” said Maricar Parco, brand head of Peugeot Philippines. “Peugeot has been pioneering electric vehicles since 1941, and the coming of the e-2008 to the Philippines culminates more than 80 years of expertise.”

Peugeot has stated that it wants an electric version of every vehicle in its lineup this year, and the e-2008 will be the first of many more. Aside from the e-2008, the lion brand will also showcase the 3008, the 5008, and the Traveller Premium along with special deals for MIAS visitors. Better make sure your checkbook is ready.
