No number-coding on December 8 in Metro Manila

Still no confirmation from the Makati LGU

Would you still want to go out for Christmas shopping if traffic could get this bad? PHOTO BY SAM SURLA

The MMDA has officially announced that number-coding will be suspended on December 8 in celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary (in case you’re not Catholic and you can’t relate). As for Makati, there is still no confirmation from the LGU, so those affected may want to avoid that area from 7am to 7pm.

However, just because you can drive your car on the streets doesn’t mean it’s wise to do so, as traffic is worse during the Christmas rush. If you must go out, please consider alternatives such as carpooling, cycling, e-scooters, public transportation, or walking if possible.
