Motorcycle aficionados have a new place to shop and talk about bikes with the opening of the new Triumph Motorcycles showroom in Greenhills (courtesy of the Autohub Group of Companies). As one of the oldest motorcycle brands, Triumph was established in 1902 when German entrepreneur Mauritz Schulte fit a 2.2hp Belgian Minerva engine on a strengthened Triumph bicycle at its factory in Coventry.

Since then, the British company has made a name for itself as one of the world’s most revered motorcycle makers, garnering race wins, land-speed records and quite a few Hollywood appearances. Tom Cruise and Dougray Scott had an epic duel riding a Speed Triple and a Daytona 955i in Mission: Impossible 2, and the Thruxton was part of a fun car chase in Ant-Man and the Wasp. More recently, fans of the Netflix show The Crown were thrilled to see a vintage Tiger 100 piloted by the character Antony Armstrong-Jones (later titled Lord Snowdon) as he romanced Princess Margaret in Season 2.

As a show of good will, the company will also be holding an auction for the Triumph Bobber TFC (Triumph Factory Custom), 667th of 750 to come out of the factory. Part of the proceeds will go to Philippine frontliners. The limited-edition Bobber TFC is a specially tuned and pared-down bike with a lighter chassis, carbon-fiber bodywork, billet-machined parts, custom lighting, and a fully adjustable Ohlins suspension.

Its 1,200cc parallel-twin engine has a new Sport Mode throttle map developing 10hp more peak power and 4Nm more peak torque than the standard Bobber. An exclusive blacked-out paint job, a floating brown leather saddle, and a Union Jack in silver foil with gold pinstripe complete the premium look and feel. Every Bobber TFC owner also gets a tailor-made TFC handover pack, a letter hand-signed by Triumph CEO Nick Bloor, a personalized custom-build book, a dedicated bike cover, a TFC document wallet, and a premium leather TFC rucksack.

No fewer than 10 models are available for purchase, ranging from the best-selling T120 and Street Twin, the badass Scrambler 1200XC, the fabulously over-the-top Rocket 3 R and its ginormous 2,500cc freight train engine, and the adventure/touring Tiger 900GT that James Bond will pilot in the yet-to-be-released No Time to Die. Aside from access to these iconic motorcycles, the showroom is a one-stop hub with a dedicated service area and merchandise.

If you like big bikes and have a taste for soulful machines that only the British can engineer, you now know where to go.
