The MSCC Miata Spec Series has cemented itself as one of the premier one-make racing series in the country, alongside several others like the Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup. Now returning for its third season in 2024, it also proves just how race-ready the MX-5 Spec Series cars are.
For the past two seasons, Mazda Philippines has reported that there have been no mechanical breakdowns, meaning that the car can last an entire season with only consumables (such as fluids, brake pads, rotors, filters, and tires) being necessary.

For 2024, the spec cars receive a few meaningful updates on top of the 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, the Drift Xaust custom exhaust, the Cusco stabilizers and adjustable coilovers, the Sparco interior bits, and the GT Radial Champiro SX2 tires that wrap bespoke 17-inch Rota Strike wheels.
A Mazdaspeed upper-stress bar and front lower-arm power brace were added, alongside Autoexe stainless-steel braided brake lines and Winmax brake pads.
Now, you can also buy and join the grid (with an endorsement letter from a current MSCC member) as the Spec Series cars are now available to the public for a cool P2,830,000.
Each will come with all-inclusive track fees for the season, and each race weekend will come with 65L of Shell V-Power Racing fuel, Shell Helix Ultra oil, and a fresh new set of GT Radial Champiro SX2 tires.

Similar to last year, the series will alternate between two venues: Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) and Clark International Speedway (CIS). The races will be all held on Saturdays, with the first round on May 25 at BRC, and the second round on July 13 at CIS. The third round will take place on September 25 back at BRC, with the season ending on November 16 at CIS.
