Jeff Bezoz has invested in a company called Slate Auto, which introduces a “blank slate” concept for its electric vehicles. The clean canvas comes as a pickup truck, which, depending on the customizations applied, can be transformed into an SUV.

Charging is also made to be as simple as juicing up a mobile phone, compatible to home outlets without the need to purchase extra cables. An overnight charge adds a minimum of 32km from a standard 120V outlet.

With the plan to focus on affordability, customers get to call the shots on the specs for their American-made vehicle. The personalization process lets you play around with a number of add-ons for both interior and exterior features, and even an SUV kit upgrade.

With the reservation fee pegged at just $50, they’re serious about keeping prices reasonable.
