With Tesla Philippines officially introducing the prolific EV brand in our market, the automaker is starting out with two of its most affordable offerings: the Model 3 sedan and the Model Y crossover.

The former will start at P2,109,000, while the latter will start at P2,369,000. Even with the mandatory order fee of P15,000 and delivery/admin fee of P12,000, these are very attractive prices.

These are sourced from the brand’s Shanghai Gigafactory.

The Model 3 we’re receiving is the updated “Highland” variant, and it comes in three trims.

The base Rear-Wheel Drive is P2,109,000 and offers up to 513km of range from a 57.5kWh cell, a top speed of 201km/h, and a 6.1-second 0-100km/h time. A choice of either 18- or 19-inch wheels is available.

If you upgrade to the Long Range model for P2,489,000, the battery capacity increases to 82kWh, allowing a range of up to 629km. The dual electric motors also reduce the 0-100km/h time to 4.4 seconds.

Sitting at the top is the dual-motor Performance, which will cost P3,099,000. You get a healthy range of 528km, but the focus is on the 0-100km/h time of 3.1 seconds and a raised top speed of 262km/h. The Performance variant has a specific aero kit with carbon-fiber trim, forged 20-inch wheels, uprated brakes, sport seats, adaptive suspension, and Track Mode V3.

The Model Y follows the same three-trim formula.

The Rear-Wheel Drive starts at P2,369,000 and offers up to 455km of range from a 60kWh cell, a 217km/h top speed, and a 6.9-second 0-100km/h sprint.

The Long Range model will go for P2,689,000. Up to 533km of range can be had from the 81kWh battery, and the 0-100km/h time is reduced to five seconds.

Performance variant is also available for P3,299,000. This comes with 21-inch “Überturbine wheels,” performance brakes, aluminum pedals, and a carbon-fiber spoiler. The maximum range is 514km from an 81kWh battery, but the top speed is upped to 250km/h, and the 0-100km/h time is down to 3.7 seconds.

The most interesting bit is that Tesla’s Online Configurator (or Design Studio) works for both the Model 3 and the Model Y, giving customers a whole lot more flexibility to spec out their vehicles. You can pick from a whole swath of colors, wheel specs, and interior trims, and you can even option out Full Self-Driving (for a princely sum of P394,000) in the Autopilot Packages section.

Apart from a growing Supercharger network, the first few ones are located in Uptown Mall BGC, which costs P19/kWh to use. Deliveries will commence in early 2025, and the warranty terms are 160,000km for the Rear-Wheel Drive variants, and 192,000km for the Performance variants, with the battery also having an eight-year warranty.
