During the pandemic, I recall a friend who was in the importation business saying Tesla had told him that they didn’t see themselves setting up shop in the Philippines anytime soon. If I remember correctly, not for another eight to 10 years.
Fast-forward to 2024 and many have noticed a certain development with Tesla branding at Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City. It is clear: A showroom has been in the works. Is this truly official, or is this just another gray-market outfit bringing in Tesla products?

The showroom, which is almost finished as you read this, is slated to hold its grand opening on November 8. That’s just a week away.
Of course, I naturally wanted to know which company is acting as official distributor. Apparently, as shared by my source, the soon-to-open dealership is owned by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
That’s all we can divulge for now. Stay tuned for more news about the official opening of Tesla Philippines. Hopefully, their prices will be more attainable than gray-market sellers.
