Toyota Motor Philippines is recalling several models due to defective fuel pumps. The problem lies within the plastic impeller which can soften from years of use leading to poor engine performance and reliability.  The recently issued service bulletin affects the following vehicles with the corresponding production dates:

MODEL PRODUCTION PERIOD
FJ Cruiser September 2, 2013 to June 3, 2015
Corolla Altis December 25, 2017 to December 26, 2018
Innova January 1, 2017 to May 10, 2019
Alphard September 4, 2017 to December 11, 2018
Fortuner November 28, 2017 to September 19, 2018
Land Cruiser Prado September 6, 2013 to March 2, 2015

The automaker is taking the proactive approach by reaching out to concerned clients through its dealership network. Affected customers will have their vehicle’s fuel pump replaced free of charge. Any questions or concerns may be coursed through Toyota’s Customer Assistance Center at (02) 8819-2912 and [email protected].
