For those who feel that KTM’s 1290 Super Duke isn’t fast enough, Team Orange has just unveiled an even speedier version. Limited to just 500 units worldwide, the 1290 Super Duke RR boasts a 1,301cc LC8 V-twin that tears out 180hp and 140Nm. And since it also only weighs 180kg, that’s a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio normally seen only in…fighter jets.

Being 11kg lighter than the already-svelte Super Duke R Evo, the RR gets an assortment of custom-made components. WP provides the suspension with an Apex Pro 7548 close cartridge fork and 7746 rear shock absorber. An Apex Pro 7117 steering damper also helps to fine-tune the handling with up to 30 clicks of adjustment.

Carbon fiber is liberally used throughout the frame, including the subframe with its unique single-seat unit. The LED taillights with their adaptive brake light are incorporated into the turn signals. A full system Akrapovič Evo is available as an optional extra, because why would you not want to uncork the full bark of this beast?

The electronics suite includes Track and Performance modes. Adjustable, CNC-machined rear set pegs, a factory triple clamp, ultra-lightweight forged wheels, and a bespoke carbon-fiber box for your keys complete the package. With only a limited number available worldwide, you’d better call up your local KTM dealer fast before they run out.
