Earlier today, BMW Philippines (aka SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation) held a Zoom session with the motoring media to share some of the things the company was doing amid this radically changed business landscape in the automotive industry.
First, they announced a digital showroom through which customers may conveniently check out the German automaker’s product offerings for our market. You can access said online portal here.
Next, they announced the availability of three new variants. The first two (the P4.29-million 520i Sport and the P3.99-million X3 xDrive20d Business) were interesting, but it was the third car that got our attention. We’re talking about the Z4 M40i Frozen Edition.

This Z4 is propelled by a 3.0-liter M Performance TwinPower Turbo straight-six gasoline engine that is now rated at 387hp (up by 47hp versus the regular Z4 M40i) and 500Nm. Only five units of this variant will be sold in the Philippines, and we’re curious to see if BMW can move this limited inventory during these challenging times. We do hope they can, because the sight of head-turning sports cars on the road will go a long way toward entertaining a dejected populace (never mind the eternally bitter haters).

The BMW Z4 M40i Frozen Edition is priced at P5,990,000, P200,000 more expensive than the standard Z4 M40i launched in our market in June last year. If you’re interested. you may peruse the specifications below.
