Repairs on Marilao Bridge are now complete

Surely a sigh of relief among those who ply the expressway regularly

Surely, those who ply the North Luzon Expressway on a regularly basis must now have had enough of the Marilao Interchange Bridge that cuts NLEX in Bulacan. The bridge—with a vertical clearance of 4.27m—is prone to be hit by tall trucks.

It was struck by two trucks in March, and by another truck recently. And every time the portion is being mended, kilometric traffic congestion is experienced by motorist. Like yesterday, for instance.

So, it is with jubilation that NLEX Corporation is announcing that the latest restoration work is now officially finished:

We are pleased to announce that the major structural repairs on the Marilao Bridge have been completed as of midnight of June 23, 2025. All four lanes of the NLEX Marilao Northbound have since been passable to motorists.

NLEX has expedited the repair work on the Marilao Bridge, which sustained significant damage due to a truck violating regulations. We sincerely thank the motoring public for their understanding and patience during the repair period.

Rest assured, NLEX is committed to improving safety and traffic management across key areas of the expressway to ensure the safety and convenience of our valued customers.

It is unclear what exactly was done to repair the bridge. Hopefully, the vertical clearance has also been adjusted. To be fair, we don’t think NLEX Corporation is elated each time the Marilao Bridge gets damaged. The expressway operator is just as stressed as vehicle drivers are.

Will this be the last? We have no idea. For now, let’s just be thankful that the bottleneck in the area is no more.
