By now, you must know that the northbound part of the North Luzon Expressway in Marilao has been affected by a “bridge hit” incident involving two trucks yesterday. As a result, two lanes have been temporarily unusable, causing massive traffic congestion around the area.
We’ve been closely monitoring this as we need to go to Clark International Speedway this weekend to watch the opening leg of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup. Thankfully, there are alternative routes that are constantly being announced by the NLEX management on their social media pages (Facebook and X).

Tonight, the NLEX communications team sent us their latest update on the ongoing repair of the NLEX Marilao Interchange Bridge:
NLEX has completed the installation of vertical steel support on sections beneath the bridge, which impacted Lanes 2 and 3 (the middle lanes) following the incident yesterday. To help reduce congestion in the northbound direction, an additional lane was opened tonight, increasing the total number of usable lanes to three. Furthermore, a zipper lane will be opened in the southbound direction when conditions allow.
We expect the necessary repairs to be completed within two weeks. Rest assured that we are committed to expediting repairs and restoring normal traffic flow as quickly as possible.
While works are ongoing, we have also posted alternative routes on our social media pages to provide motorists with additional options.
Patrol and traffic marshals will remain in the area to guide motorists and promptly assist those in need.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused, and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work diligently to ensure your safety.
Obviously, nobody wanted this. But bad things happen all the time. It’s just nice to know that NLEX Corporation is working triple time to resolve this.
