After a decade of exciting racing action, Toyota Motor Philippines presses on with the 11th season of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup (also known as TGR Vios Cup). The first race will take place at Clark International Speedway in Mabalacat, Pampanga, this Saturday (March 22). Battling it out will be the Novice, Sporting, and Super Sporting classes.
TMP president Masando Hashimoto rejoins the grid, together with Reph Bangsil and media racers John Rey San Diego and Pablo Salapantan.
Added to this year’s Novice Class lineup are Arianne Bautista, sim racer Luis Moreno, and media racer Ian Magbanua. Novice Class champion Russel Reyes and runner-up Jamil Lacuna have been promoted to Sporting Class to compete with the fastest racers in the country.
A new race class will also be introduced. Called the Legacy Class, it will feature former Vios Cup racers as well as owners of the third-generation Vios.
Outside of the TGR Philippine Cup, there will be a new race format for the car clubs of Toyota’s GR cars. They will compete in a five-lap circuit race called the Club Race. For the members not participating in the Club Race, GR car owners still have the opportunity to participate in the Track Day.
The new 2025 GR Yaris will also make an appearance this weekend.
As for regular Toyota fans, the event will have car displays, GR merchandise, game booths, TGR GT Cup experience, and many freebies at the sponsors’ booths. Drifting and gymkhana exhibitions will also take place at the racetrack for spectators to watch and enjoy.
Finally, the Filipino alternative rock band Hale will perform their songs at the venue.
As is the tradition, admission is free.

If you can’t be physically present at the track, the first race will be broadcast live on the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines’ Facebook and YouTube pages starting at 8:30am.
The 2025 season will have an earlier three-leg race calendar:
- Race weekend 1: March 22, 2025
- Race weekend 2: May 2025
- Race weekend 3: August 2025
