April 1 may be different things for various people, but for Japanese companies, this usually marks the start of another fiscal year. For Nissan Philippines, the company is seeing some high-profile personnel changes.
For one, Juan Manuel Hoyos will be stepping down from his position as president of Nissan Philippines. He will be replaced by the incoming president, Yasuhisa Masuda, effective April 1. He will be reporting to Toshihiro Fujiki, also the newly appointed president of Nissan ASEAN and Thailand.
Fujiki will be replacing Isao Sekiguchi, former president who was promoted to corporate vice president of Nissan Motor Company.
Masuda was chief marketing officer for Japan Product Marketing and Brand and Media Strategy, and held previous positions in the fast-moving consumer goods industry.
Meanwhile, Hoyos will be the president of Nissan Importers Business Unit in the Americas, but based out of Mexico. During his tenure, he launched several notable models such as the Kicks e-Power, the Livina, the Z, and the refreshed Almera and GT-R. Nissan Philippines also managed a 37% growth by the end of the 2023 fiscal year.
