It has been two months since the last significant update for Gran Turismo 7, and fans have been waiting for new cars to be included in the game. For this month, Polyphony Digital almost delivered the goods with a different variation of two existing models and another Toyota van that might excite a niche minority.

Firstly, the latest iteration of the Nissan GT-R shines through in Millennium Jade and Midnight Purple. First debuted at last year’s Tokyo Auto Salon, the 2024 T-Spec model is expected to be the swan song of the R35 generation, singing to the tune of the iconic 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine like it’s 2007.

Another Japanese all-wheel-drive icon appears as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII. While its ninth-gen cousin was added in a previous update, this 2004 model carries the triangle corporate grille (also seen in the Grandis, the Adventure, and the Strada of the mid-2000s) and the iconic 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

In true Polyphony fashion, the regular Toyota Hiace is finally in the game after its ambulance cousin was first introduced in Update 1.36. Now, players will commandeer the 2016 Japanese-spec DX model (equivalent to the local-spec Hiace Commuter) like an average shuttle or commercial driver.

Aside from the vehicles, new races have been updated with a new track for the Nissan GT-R Cup and the Sunday Cup, as well as the inclusion of the Evolution Cup. PlayStation 5 players can also challenge Sophy AI in two existing circuits: Brands Hatch (Grand Prix Circuit) and Dragon Trail (Seaside).
Update 1.52 is now available for all users, so what are you most excited to drive?
