Adidas has announced a multiyear partnership with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, becoming the official team partner for the upcoming season and beyond.

The Adidas x Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team range will be revealed next month, building up to the 2025 season starting in mid-March. The new kit—footwear, apparel, and accessories—will not only be designed and created for the team, but will also be available for fans. It will be exciting to step into its stores as Adidas enters Formula 1 for the first time. Expect limited- or special-edition releases as the season progresses. Shirts that are round- or track-specific, perhaps.

“We are very happy to be back in the world of motorsport,” Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden shares. “Interest in motorsport in general and Formula 1 in particular has been growing a lot. It is reaching new consumers and has a big influence on sport and street culture. We are extremely proud to introduce the Three Stripes into F1 as official team partner of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team—one of the most successful teams ever.”

“Our partnership with Adidas is a clear statement of intent as we begin to write our next chapter as a team,” Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team CEO and team principal Toto Wolff says. “Adidas is an iconic brand, one that shares our dedication not only to peak performance but to style and sophistication, too. This announcement therefore represents a groundbreaking collaboration that will redefine what team and fan wear means in our sport. We are excited to break this new ground and work with Adidas as we collectively strive to fight for world championships.”

Puma has partnered the Mercedes F1 team since 2012. A big sponsorship deal to signify life after Lewis Hamilton?
