The Porsche Taycan is an excellent electric sports sedan. Like the rest of the automaker’s products, it’s blessed (or cursed) with an expansive range to fit all performance niches and wallet sizes. Introduced at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Taycan GTS aims to be the sporty sweet spot, slotting between the 4S and the Turbo.
In the Taycan GTS, this sweet spot can be seen in the power output. This model is rated for 590hp, while the 4S has 523hp and the Turbo packs 671hp. The 0-100km/h sprint can be done in 3.7 seconds, and top speed caps out at 250km/h. It has a range of 504km, beating out the base Taycan’s 484km.
The GTS also comes with adaptive air suspension which has been specifically tuned for this variant, and the optional rear-axle steering and Porsche Electric Sport Sound are also made sportier. To differentiate it from other trim levels, parts of the body have blacked-out accents, just like with every other GTS-trim Porsche. There’s also an optional panoramic sunroof with “Sunshine Control,” which allows the roof to turn from clear to translucent with a push of a button, all without dimming the interior.
Lastly (and arguably the most exciting), the addition of the Sport Turismo body style (which will eventually roll out to other variants). This is essentially the Cross Turismo sans the off-road elements like plastic body cladding, making it a very sleek and sexy-looking wagon.
The Taycan GTS and the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo start at €131,834 (P7,510,000) and €132,786 (P7,570,000) respectively. These vehicles will make their way to dealerships in the spring of 2022.
