Nissan PH to launch face-lifted Patrol on December 10

The luxury SUV will finally get the bold new corporate face

Probably the only other Japanese SUV that can go head to head with the Toyota Land Cruiser is the Nissan Patrol. But with the all-new version of the former being recently launched, the latter certainly needs to up its ante. And after quite a bit of waiting, Filipino customers will soon get the updated Patrol.

In a previous article, we reported the changes that were made to make the Patrol look a little more handsome. There’s the all-important imposing V-motion grille, now flanked by headlights sporting twin DRL strips. A little plastic surgery to the bumpers and the alloy wheels certainly gives the brawny SUV a fresh face.

Despite these changes, the mechanical platform of the Patrol remains the same. It is still powered by the VK56 5.6-liter gasoline V8 with 400hp. Based on overseas-market specs, we’re pretty sure that the vehicle will not get an optional diesel powerplant. But it will likely come equipped with a more comprehensive version of Nissan Intelligent Mobility.

Nissan Philippines is understandably keeping mum about the details of the refreshed Y62 Patrol. But if we’ve piqued your interest, make sure to tune in to the automaker’s Facebook page and YouTube channel at 5pm on December 10.
