As COVID restrictions loosen the virus’s strangling grip on the global economy, businesses the world over are finally able to find the breathing room to bounce back. Ducati in 2021 just posted its best year ever in terms of units sold, and now it is on track to surpass it.

A total of 13,450 motorcycles were delivered to Ducatisti the world over from January to March 2022–a 5% increase over the same period last year and a whopping 40% more than 2020. According to the brand’s vice president for global sales and after-sales, Francesco Milicia, pending unserved orders are also up by a staggering 83%, citing supply-chain issues as the main cause of delays.

Italy and Germany are the strongest markets for the Italian bike maker, collectively accounting for 3,926 units sold. The Multistrada V4 was the best-selling model with 2,456 units delivered, reflecting the market’s affinity for go-anywhere machines. In second is the Monster with 1,868 motorcycles sold, followed closely by the Scrambler 800 series with 1,557 of these fun-loving bikes finding new homes.
