What could be more outrageous than a Ducati Diavel, which marries cruiser style and comfort with superbike performance courtesy of its 159hp engine? Why, a Lamborghini edition, of course! Recently announced on its international website, the limited-edition motorcycle is a collaboration between the two Italian marques and is inspired by the Sián FKP 37, a mild-hybrid masterpiece making 807hp.
To live up to this exceedingly high benchmark, Ducati starts with the base Diavel 1260 S. No slouch itself, the heart of the Diavel is its 1262cc Testastretta DVT engine. Rated at 159hp at 9,500rpm and 129Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, and with the bike’s dry weight listed at just 218kg, the Diavel is a rocket that doesn’t require you to fold yourself in two like a supersport bike.
For the design collaboration, the Diavel Lamborghini gets custom forged wheels like that of its supercar namesake. The air intakes and radiator covers are made of carbon fiber and are designed as floating elements on the main structure.
It also gets special livery designed by Centro Stile Ducati and Centro Stile Lamborghini, using the exact Gea Green paint job used for the Sián FKP 37. It’s guaranteed to make your riding buddies green with envy during the weekend ride. The frame, undertray, and forged rims are the Electrum Gold color treatment. Ducati’s signature red is retained on the Brembo brake calipers.
Carbon fiber is also used for the silencer cover, central tank cover, seat cover, front and rear mudguards, dash cover, and headlight frame. Subtle Lamborghini design elements such as the hexagon can be found in the shape of the exhaust, while the “Y” motif is used for the seat.
A big, black-and-gold “63” adorns the front side panel of the bike, recalling the founding of Lamborghini way back in 1963. Multiplying that by 10 gets you the exact number of copies that Ducati will produce. Finally, Centro Stile Ducati came up with a special helmet design to match the bike.
We spoke to our friends at Ducati Philippines for more details, and while they can’t say yet when this gorgeous bike will arrive in the Philippines, the ballpark price will be around P2.4 million. Quite a bit of money for a motorcycle, but nothing ridiculous when you’re talking about Italian superbikes. And definitely a lot cheaper to bring home than any Lamborghini (maybe except for this one).
