The Toll Regulatory Board dropped two important announcements before the weekend. In two Facebook posts, the agency shared that it had approved the toll fee increases for the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway and the Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway last Friday and yesterday, respectively.

For SCTEX, the TRB approved the second tranche of NLEX Corporation’s petitions for a toll fee increase filed in 2020 and 2022. The agency divided the increases into three tranches, the first of which was implemented in October of last year.

NLEX Corporation will start collecting the adjusted toll rates tomorrow, November 19. And since this is just the second of three tranches of increases, we can expect another round of increases, but that’s a problem for another time.

Meanwhile, the TRB likewise approved Ayala Corporation’s and MCX Project Company’s petition for Periodic Toll Rate Adjustment for the MCX.

After the issuance of the Notice to Start Collection in favor of the toll road operator, MCX will start collecting the updated toll fees:

  • Class 1P22 (P3 increase from P19)
  • Class 2P43 (P4 increase from P39)
  • Class 3P65 (P7 increase from P58)
