Avoid these roads for the remainder of the 2024 Bar Examinations

To take effect on September 11 and 15

The Bar Examinations are upon us, and these will continue on September 11 and 15. Expect heavy traffic as road closures will happen around the universities that will serve as the testing centers around the country.

The Manila Public Information Office has released new information regarding the upcoming road closures around San Beda University and the University of Santo Tomas on September 11 and 15.

San Beda University (Mendiola area)

  1. Mendiola Street’s both lanes will be closed from Peace Arch to Malacañang Gate from 2am to 7pm.
  2. Concepcion Aguila Street’s both lanes will be closed from Mendiola Street corner Jose Laurel Street from 2am to 7pm.

University of Santo Tomas (Sampaloc area)

September 11

  1. España Boulevard (two westbound lanes from Lacson Avenue to Padre Noval Street) will have assisted traffic for drop-off and pick-up from 2am to 8am and 3pm to 7pm.
  2. The entirety of Dapitan Street will be closed from 2am to 7pm.

September 15

  1. España Boulevard (two westbound lanes from Lacson Avenue to Padre Noval Street) will have assisted traffic for drop-off and pick-up from 2am to 8am.
  2. España Boulevard will have road closure of all westbound lanes from Lacson Avenue to Padre Noval Street from 3pm to 7pm.
  3. The entirety of Dapitan Street will be closed from 2am to 7pm.

University of the Philippines Diliman

Roads around the Palma Hall and Pavilions, the Malcolm Hall, and the Encarnacion Hall will be off-limits from September 10 to 11, and from September 14 to 15. You cannot access them unless you’re part of the list of authorized personnel and examinees, or have a permit from the Supreme Court.

Campus personnel are only allowed to access buildings in Zone A (Quezon Hall, Vargas Museum, and CAL New Building), and expect heavy traffic along University Avenue (Zone C).

Central Philippine University (Iloilo)

Road closures from 2am to 9am and 3pm to 8pm on September 11 and 15:

  1. Lopez Jaena Street/Cabangbang Street.
  2. Lopez Jaena Street/Miramar Subdivision.

Motorists are advised to take alternative routes coming from Jaro (outbound):

  • From Jaro Plaza to Lopez Jaena (headed to Ungka Terminal from Simon Ledesma), turn right.
  • From Lopez Jaena Street, turn left.
  • Coming from Cabangbang Street, turn right.
  • Arguelles Extension, turn right.
  • Cuartero to the service road, turn right.
  • Miramar Subdivision to Lopez Jaena, then proceed to the destination.

Ateneo de Davao University Senior High School Campus (ADDU-SHS)

No road closures or traffic rerouting, but expect congestion around roads like General Douglas MacArthur Highway from 4am to 8am and 4pm to 7pm.
