Those who like going to car shows may be more familiar with the annual Manila International Auto Show, but the one big event that is organized and supported by the local industry’s major players is the biennial Philippine International Motor Show. We hit you with this intro because the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines is staging the motoring spectacle’s seventh edition this year—on October 24 (Wednesday) to 28 (Sunday)—at World Trade Center in Pasay City.
This time, the theme of PIMS is “Future Mobility,” which will obviously tackle next-generation automotive technologies including electrification, autonomous driving and connectivity.
Still, what any interested PIMS visitor wants to know is the roster of car exhibitors, and we have the latest list at the moment. We say “latest” because the group seems to still change as the days pass. For instance, the brands under the group of Palawan Governor Jose Alvarez—Kia, Mahindra and Peugeot—have apparently pulled out. Ditto with Mercedes-Benz.
Assuming everything else stands from now until the opening day of PIMS 2018, here are the passenger car and commercial vehicle brands you will see at the show:
- BAIC
- BMW
- Daewoo
- Foton
- Fuso
- Honda
- Isuzu
- Jaguar
- Land Rover
- Mazda
- Mitsubishi
- Nissan
- SsangYong
- Suzuki
- Tata
- Toyota
- Volkswagen
But like we said, there’s a possibility this could still change as we draw nearer to PIMS weekend. Best to keep yourself updated by visiting the event’s official Facebook page.
