Last December, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) held its Global Service Skills Contest in Tokyo, Japan. Raymond Rivera, representing Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), was crowned champion in the service advisor contest.
Rivera had won MMPC’s Mitsubishi Skills Olympics in January 2025, and this had given him the opportunity to compete internationally. He had began training in July under the coaching of MMPC non-technical training senior supervisor Allan Veraque Jr.
The Global Service Skills Contest consists of two parts to rigorously assess the theoretical and practical skills. The first part consists of an exam and an essay about the vehicle condition and the customer profile. Meanwhile, the other part is a role-play exercise, simulating the full experience of a service advisor from pre-delivery to vehicle delivery.

“Preparation is really about showing up every day,” said Veraque Jr. “Regardless of energy or mood, you still show up. That’s what makes the difference. And Raymond did exactly that. By consistently showing up to training for months, he was able to internalize all the lessons.”
This global competition reflects Mitsubishi’s commitment to top-quality customer service. Hopefully, Rivera’s success inspires more Filipinos to strive to be better in their endeavors.
