The Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Philippine Cup is back for its 12th season. The first race weekend will be held at the streets of Riverpark, Cavite, from March 13 to 15.
This time around, there will be a one-make race featuring the Toyota Tamaraw. Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) released the Tamaraw Race Car Package last month so that teams could transform the utility vehicle into a race car. What a way of “pushing the limits for better.”
This year’s grid will have 30 drivers competing across the different classes. Familiar faces include Iñigo Anton, Dominic Ochoa, Alain Alzona, Jesse Garcia, and TMP president Masando Hashimoto. They will be joined by newcomers Chenee Jimenez, Alex Lim, Justin Buzzhype, Enzo Ison, and Will Lucas.
Aside from the races, fans can enjoy the exhibit consisting of GR performance vehicles, Lexus luxury cars, and the soon-to-be-launched RAV4 and Urban Cruiser. There will also be sim-racing rigs at the e-Motorsports display.

“It will be another thrilling year as we kick off a GRipping and GRitty season of the TGR Philippine Cup,” said TMP president Masando Hashimoto. “By adding new playgrounds in Cavite and Batangas, it will surely make the hearts of all motorsports fans race. I recently tried out the Tamaraw OMR in a drift track in Pampanga, and it really made me wow. I cannot wait for more people to experience what this car can do when pushed to its limits.”
