Toyota Motor Philippines is ending the year with a bang with the launch of the GR Corolla.
This is the latest addition to Toyota’s local lineup of performance vehicles that include the GR Supra, the GR Yaris, and the GR86. Compared to the other models, the GR Corolla is a more practical choice for a daily driver.
The hatchback is a bigger sibling to the GR Yaris, measuring 4,408mm long, 1,851mm wide, and 1,479mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,640mm. Although it can comfortably seat five people, it’s no crossover with a minimum ground clearance of just 120mm.

The star of the show is the three-cylinder, 1.6-liter turbocharged G16E-GTS engine producing 296hp and 400Nm of torque. Customers have the choice between a six-speed manual transmission and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The GR-Four 4WD System is responsible for sending power to all four 18-inch wheels, with five driving modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, Gravel, and Track.

Step into the driver’s seat and you’ll see a 12.3-inch digital-meter cluster and multi-info display. In the middle is a seven-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, perfect for day trips to the track.
The GR Corolla also gets Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which has the usual features you’d expect—pre-collision system, automatic high beam, lane-trace assist, and lane-departure alert.
Cruise control is present, but it’s not exactly the same between the two variants. According to Toyota, the MT variant has adaptive cruise control, while the AT variant gets dynamic radar cruise control.

The Toyota GR Corolla will be available in four colors:
- Emotional Red
- Precious Metal
- Black
- Super White
The MT variant starts at P3,811,000, while the AT variant starts at P3,955,000. If you’re hoping to get one in time for Christmas, the GR Corolla will be available starting on December 23.
