Volkswagen PH introduces new colors for the T-Cross

And not much else, sadly

Some people thought it was a new model, but it turned out to be a mild refresh for the T-Cross. PHOTO BY SAM SURLA

Remember that teaser we shared earlier this month that showed a shadowed VW crossover? It got many people talking about whether we were getting a new model to add to the stable of Volkswagen Philippines. Also, we suddenly got the Cross Santana out of nowhere, which was essentially a dressed-up Santana Wagon with plastic cladding and a slight lift.

Now, Volkswagen Philippines has released the car behind the teaser that got everyone talking, and it’s just another light refresh for the T-Cross.

To put things into perspective, there isn’t much new with this update. While the previous refresh introduced a brand-new Active Info Display (or digital instrument cluster) to freshen things up, this update receives new colors, which are Makena Turquoise, Pure White, and Moonstone Gray.

The latter two replace Polar White and Chinchilla Gray, but the other colors (Syringa Violet, Tribu Yellow, and Romance Red) are still present.

Other than that, it is pretty much the same car. The 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated in-line-four mated to a six-speed automatic transmission; the body-colored interior trim and two-tone leather and fabric seats; and 9.2-inch infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay.

Now, there is only one variant of the T-Cross offered on sale, and it is the 180 MPI AT SE with AID. It is priced at P1.34 million.
