The Volkswagen T-Cross is a subcompact crossover with many accolades. This car has been given five-star NCAP safety ratings in Latin America, Europe and Australia. And Filipinos will soon experience what it’s like to drive an award-winning vehicle as the T-Cross is expected to land on our shores this year (very soon, in fact).

There is plenty to be excited about with the T-Cross. It rides on the MQB platform shared with the Volkswagen Polo and the Audi A1. AC Motors, Volkswagen’s official distributor, has not revealed any specs. But if the car’s China-sourced version is anything to go by, it could either have a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine or a turbocharged 1.4-liter TSI unit, mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The T-Cross is a truly global car that is sold in 55 countries. Volkswagen claims that demand for the vehicle has risen dramatically as sales topped 296,000 units last year (from 202,000 cars in 2019). This could be proof that customers around the world do find great value in this crossover. If that is the case, then Filipino consumers could expect the same world-class quality from this product.
