The 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon is fast approaching, and of course, you can guarantee the participation of Japan’s biggest manufacturer—Toyota. For its booth, Toyota Gazoo Racing and Lexus will both be present. The event will be held at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, from January 12 to 14, 2024.
The theme will be “Getting more passionate about cars with car lovers,” and will be kicked off with Akio Toyoda (aka Morizo) giving a speech on January 12. There, panel sessions featuring racing drivers and development engineers will be held alongside demo runs.
Of course, the main attraction of the display will feature new vehicles, with several new customized production models from Gazoo Racing and Lexus to be unveiled.
Aside from that, the automaker will be displaying its racing cars from various motorsport disciplines, like the GR Yaris WRC, the GR010 Hybrid #8, the au TOM’S GR Supra (GT500), the Vantelin TOM’S SF23 #37, the ORC Rookie GR Yaris DAT concept, and the CP Rookie Prius CNF-HEV GR concept.
GR Parts and GR Heritage Parts will also be previewed at the booth, but lucky showgoers will also want to catch a gymkhana duel between Masahiro Sasaki in the AE86 BEV concept and Keiichi Tsuchiya in his AE86 “Mame-go” on January 13.
January 14 will have a demo run of various rally vehicles by Norihiko Katsuta and Takamoto Katsuta.
