The livery of AlphaTauri’s AT04 gets a splash of red

Orlen joins in as a major sponsor

Ever since AlphaTauri’s debut in 2020, the team has been sporting a blue-and-white livery to promote Red Bull’s apparel line. Things have changed this year as you’ll find red accents on its yet-to-be-revealed AT04, in line with its latest sponsor Orlen.

If that name sounds familiar, that’s because the Polish oil company has been around in Formula 1 since Polish driver Robert Kubica made his full-time comeback with Williams in 2019. The duo then went to Alfa Romeo from 2020 to 2022.

Last season was disappointing for AlphaTauri. After finishing P7 in 2020—24 points behind a slumping Ferrari—and P6 in 2021, it ended last year’s constructors’ championship all the way down in P9, overtaken by a resurgent Haas by two points.

Pierre Gasly contributed much to the team, winning the 2020 Italian Grand Prix and finishing P3 in the 2021 Azerbaijan Grand Prix. So, his departure for Alpine in the upcoming season leaves big shoes to fill for Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck de Vries.

For a team named after a clothing brand, New York Fashion Week is a good occasion to showcase its new livery. PHOTOS FROM ALPHATAURI

Hopefully, Red Bull’s success in this new era of F1 will also rub off on its sister team.
