If you’ve been following Singer Vehicle Design since it was founded in 2009, then you’re familiar with its restoration services: Porsche 911 Classic and 911 DLS (both of which bring back the F-model look), as well as the 911 Classic Turbo and the 911 DLS Turbo (bringing back the 930 and 934/5 body styles, respectively).
Its latest restoration service naturally follows the trend—Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer—celebrating the naturally aspirated G-model Carrera.
As always, the first step of the restoration is disassembling a Type-964 911—from the interior and the bodywork, to every mechanical component—until the chassis (steel monocoque) is exposed.
It is then cleaned, assessed, and prepared so as to be in the ideal state for the following stages of restoration. Here, chassis strengthening, developed in consultation with Red Bull Technologies, is applied to increase the torsional rigidity of the original chassis.

The engine in a Carrera restoration is a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, developing 420hp and can rev to over 8,000rpm. Development is based on what the company has learned from the DLS program, when its first four-valve cylinder head came out.
Singer has collaborated with Cosworth to jointly develop the execution of this engine. For the first time, variable valve timing has been added to an engine restored for a Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer, increasing drivability at low speeds and power at high revs. It is also the first naturally aspirated engine restored by Singer to use water-cooled cylinder heads combined with air-cooled cylinders, applying what the company learned from the DLS Turbo program.
It’s paired with a six-speed manual gearbox that delivers power to the rear wheels. And for that flat-six growl, the Carrera restoration sports a newly developed titanium exhaust system.

The carbon-fiber bodywork takes inspiration particularly from the wide body with the Super Sport Equipment Package.
Cooling is an important aspect of the restoration, with a deep front spoiler for enhanced airflow and rear-fender intakes that direct air to the engine compartment.
Just like in the ’80s when the 911 Carrera was available with a fixed rear wing or without, Singer will give owners a similar option—a fixed or a speed-activated wing. And check this out: Auxiliary driving lights are available, rising from the frunk when activated and folding down flush when not in use—a period-correct feature with a modern touch.
Completing the look are 18-inch center-lock wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires, aiding in putting the car’s power to the road as well as providing grip.
The interior, meanwhile, is where personal preference shines, through bespoke paint, leather, and material finishes. Stitched and burnished leather seams throughout can be requested for the first time.
Either lightweight sports or bucket seats can be chosen, matching the raised gear shifter (which may be specified) with an exposed shift mechanism, further highlighting craftsmanship. Completing the entire feel is the distinctive 911 gauge cluster, reimagined with hand-built gauges.
Keeping the car planted are four-way adjustable dampers with electronic damping control (with a nose lift system), traction control and electronic stability control, combined with five drive modes (Road, Sport, Track, Off, and Weather).
Providing stopping power, meanwhile, are carbon ceramic brakes developed through the DLS services, which may be specified.

Rob Dickinson, Singer’s founder, executive chairman, and creative director, had this to share about the company’s latest restoration service:
“In the 1980s, you could order a new 911 Carrera with the pumped-up bodywork of the Turbo, but powered by the company’s latest naturally aspirated flat-six. It became known as the Carrera with Super Sport Equipment. Our services reference this car and celebrate the era with a vision for an ultimate, naturally aspirated G-model 911, reimagined for the 21st century. At its heart is a remarkable flat-six, bringing together our learnings from the last 15 years, and adding variable valve-timing for the first time.”
The Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer will be limited to just 100 commissions. We’re drooling.
