Following up on the existing Emira V6 Base and Turbo SE, Lotus has introduced two additional variants: V6 SE and Turbo, the latter now the entry model to the nameplate.

The new variants are powered by the same engines: a supercharged 3.5-liter V6 that delivers 400hp and is mated to either a standard six-speed manual with a limited-slip differential or an optional six-speed automatic gearbox; and a 2.0-liter twin-scroll turbo four-cylinder with an output of 359hp and is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The V6 engine has been refined to deliver increased driver engagement. Adding to this is a new compression mount for the manual gearbox for more precise gear changes.

Furthermore, handling and ride comfort have been sharpened and improved respectively, thanks to optimized damper calibration and slight adjustments in wheel alignment.

There are two suspension settings: Tour is tuned for daily comfort, while Sports offers a moderately stiffer suspension for a more dynamic feel. Steering, meanwhile, is hydraulic for better response.

The V6 SE is finished in Zinc Gray as standard and is identified by V6 SE badges, 20-inch forged alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and an Alcantara interior with sport pedals. The top variant features 15 exterior colors and seven interior themes, along with four brake caliper finishes and eight wheel designs.

Now the standard model, the Turbo has appointments such as autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, blind spot warning, and fatigue detection. It’s equipped with 12-way electrically adjustable seats with memory, a 190W audio system, and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Lotus has also introduced the Racing Line design option, available on both variants. Racing Line adds a yellow, red, or silver lower pinstripe, along with the same accent color for the mirror caps, matching the color of the brake calipers.

There are also Racing Line badges with a matching accent, a black-and-silver exterior logo, and high-gloss black wheels. Keeping it consistent inside is a special interior badge and stitching in the chosen accent color.

Along with the introduction of the new variants, Lotus has given technical upgrades for road and track use to the entire Emira lineup, including enhancing the transmission and the cooling.

Isn’t it sad to think the Emira is the last Lotus sports car to be powered by an internal-combustion engine?
