These days, battery-electric vehicles are no longer objects of the future. Over the past few years, the variety of such products has only increased to the point that these cars can almost be called mainstream. But one brand wants to buck that trend by offering something that’s a little out of the ordinary.
That is Volvo, and it is waging war in the country’s EV space with the EX30. Measuring just over 4.2m in length, this crossover will keep on eliciting curious stares for lots of good reasons. In a sea of overly styled electric runabouts, the EX30’s restrained Swedish design will definitely stand the test of time.
Despite its size, the EX30 has a claimed range of 476km. But it’s not short on performance as the go pedal has access to 272hp. But as expected, safety is Volvo’s unique selling proposition. It’s not surprising then that electronic driver aids come with the package, and that the EX30 has a Euro NCAP safety rating of five stars.
The EX30 retails for P2,990,000. Aside from a five-year (or unlimited-mileage) vehicle warranty and an eight-year (or 160,000km) battery guarantee, owners can have their car looked after by a team of trained personnel through the Volvo Personal Service program.
