Big bikes are aspirational machines. But shoppers often have a tough time choosing what model to go for due to the lack of demo units to try before pulling out the checkbook. It’s not uncommon for a customer to go to a showroom, sit on the bike to check out the fit, then make the purchase only to realize later on that it’s either less than what he or she hoped for or it’s just too large to handle.
Honda Philippines is making the purchasing decision a little easier by soon allowing prospective customers to sign up for a free test ride of its big bikes starting with the Africa Twin and the X-ADV.
To avail of this offer, customers will need to register online through a link that the company will post this month on its official Facebook page. The link will help you schedule the date of your test ride, to be confirmed via private message in September. All test-ride activities will then start the following month.
There’s a bit of a catch, though. The test rides will be held only at the Honda Safety Driving Center in Parañaque City, and you must present a medical certificate or a negative RT-PCR test result because, you know, COVID. The test ride is also limited to eight participants per day in compliance with IATF guidelines.
Customers will, however, get to experience the bikes in a safe and controlled environment. It also gives them an opportunity to have a one-on-one session with an HSDC instructor. If you’re dead set on getting yourself a big bike, a professionally supervised test ride may just be the thing you need to assure yourself that, yes, life is better on two wheels.
