A month ago, at the end of its press conference, Honda Cars Philippines teased the hybrid version of the facelifted Civic for the Philippine market. While the specs and the features were mentioned in our initial coverage, its price was left out for a formal launch at this year’s Philippine International Motor Show.

The facelifted 11th-generation model has officially landed in the country wearing a new sharper fascia than the Beluga lookalike. Alongside the existing V Turbo and RS Turbo models is the new Civic RS e:HEV, which also comes in an exclusive Canyon River Blue Metallic paint.

Coexisting with the familiar 1.5-liter turbo engine is a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline engine that produces 140hp and 182Nm. While that doesn’t sound like much, the 1.05kWh lithium-ion battery pack boosts the output to 182hp and 315Nm.

The interior remains unchanged from the first iteration, keeping the honeycomb grille motif and tactile physical buttons intact. What’s new is that the nine-inch infotainment system is now fitted in all trim levels, including the V Turbo that used to be seven inches.

Besides Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the new Civic offers Google built-in services with Assistant, Maps, and Play Store that seamlessly integrate your Google account into the system. Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without Honda Sensing equipped as standard for all models.

The facelifted Honda Civic starts at P1,600,000 for the V Turbo, P1,790,000 for the RS Turbo, and P1,990,000 for the RS e:HEV. While the ICE variants have a slight bump in their SRP, would you get the top-of-the-range hybrid model over its Toyota rival?
