Implementation of tollway penalties bumped to 2025

Yet more time for drivers to fix up their RFIDs

The Department of Transportation has put a temporary hold on Joint Circular Memorandum No. 2024-001 until 2025.

This memorandum involves penalizing motorists who violate expressway rules including RFID guidelines such as installation and proper loading to help ease congestion at tollbooths in and around NCR.

According to the DOTr, the decision for this postponement is aligned with President Bongbong Marcos’s solutions to improve the traffic situation in the metropolis.

Honestly, we feel that postponing such measures is counterproductive and will just make things worse. What do you think?
