These are the winners of the 2021 World Car Awards

Volkswagen ID.4 is crowned World Car of the Year

The World Car Awards jury is made up of 93 journalists from 28 countries. It decides on which cars are worthy of being called the best of the best. The evaluation criteria include value, safety, market significance, innovation and performance.

There are six awards being given, with Akio Toyoda already winning the World Car Person of the Year award. And for 2021, the Volkswagen ID.4 gets the most coveted accolade of World Car of the Year—joining the ranks of previous awardees like the Kia Telluride (2020), the Jaguar I-Pace (2019), the Volvo XC60 (2018) and the Jaguar F-Pace (2017).
