The week before the Undas holidays, Typhoon Kristine ravaged Luzon with strong winds and heavy rainfall. In response, Grab and Move It mobilized relief operations in Cavite and Laguna where goods were distributed to over 1,000 families.
In addition, the respective platforms also have the GrabCares and the Move It Malasakit programs, which allow delivery partners to seek assistance for their families easily through the drivers’ app.
“Sa tuwing may kalamidad, kaming mga delivery-partners na hindi gaanong naapektuhan ay nakikipagtulungan na agad sa Grab para mag-volunteer sa mga ganitong klaseng relief operations,” said Perpe Mahinay Disoacido Jr. of Grab Ugnayan Advocates. “Sa pamamagitan ng aming community channels, na-identify namin agad ang mga kabahayan na nangangailangan ng agarang tulong. Itong mga ganitong klaseng impormasyon ang ibinabahagi namin sa Grab para mas mapabilis ang pagtugon at pagtulong.”
