There’s no doubt that ride-hailing apps like Grab have become part of our lifestyle, but being a Grab driver-partner, delivery-partner, or rider-partner is not for the faint of heart. It entails long hours on the road under trying conditions, and all in order to make an honest living.
This year, Grab’s “Health and Wheelness Driver Care” event welcomed over 4,000 partners and their families for a day of health and wellness. Speakers from Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Philippine Red Cross, First Metro Asset Management, and Pag-IBIG shared their expertise on healthy eating, social protection, road safety, and financial well-being.
Various medical partners also participated in giving Grab partners an opportunity they would normally have difficulty availing of in a typical workweek.
EO Optical gave free checkups, while Generika Drugstore, Grab, and Move It distributed vitamins, health supplements, and appropriate medications following free consultations. Finally, 700 preregistered participants also availed of complimentary dentures customized to their dental prescriptions.
Grab and Move It also continued their partnership with Pag-IBIG and PhilHeath to provide an efficient accreditation and membership application process, issuing new Loyalty Card Plus and health IDs during the event.
“Totoo na walang tatalo sa sipag at diskarte ng mga Grab driver-partners and delivery-partners at Move It rider-partners,” shares Grab Philippines head of cities and business operations CJ Lacsican. “Sa kanilang kasipagan, minsan nakakaligtaan nilang bigyang pansin ang kanilang kalusugan. Ito ang dahilan kung bakit patuloy tayo sa pagsasagawa ng iba’t ibang hakbangin upang kanila rin namang mapangalagaan nang husto hindi lamang ang kanilang hanapbuhay, kundi na rin ang sarili nilang kalusugan.”
Partners also enjoyed getting pampered during the event with free haircuts, massages, and nail-cleaning sessions.
An online seminar was also held prior to the event, with guest speakers from Philippine Red Cross, Department of Agriculture, and Shell Philippines engaging the audience with discussions on topics such as healthy eating and vehicle maintenance.
Partners’ vehicles were also given free oil change provided by Shell and Mechanigo.ph.
Beyond this daylong event, Grab and Move It are applying innovations to keep partners healthier and balanced. The Fatigue Nudge for Grab drivers is a feature that reminds partners who have been online for more than 10 hours to take a break and rest.
