Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation has officially announced that Takeshi Hara will take over the reins as the company’s new president and CEO, succeeding Mutsuhiro Oshikiri who has headed the firm for the past four years.

Hara isn’t a new face in the industry. Working for Mitsubishi since 1993, he has taken on various roles in the automaker’s headquarters in Japan as well as its overseas subsidiaries. Most recently, he served as president and CEO of the firm’s distributor in Puerto Rico from 2019 to 2021. Hara joined MMPC last April as its executive vice president.

Oshikiri’s term saw Mitsubishi keeping the number two spot in terms of sales during the peak of the pandemic. Some of his achievements include the brand’s one-millionth-unit sales milestone, and the highest sales in a month (6,822 units sold in March 2017). Both the Xpander and the Euro 4-compliant L300 were launched under Oshikiri’s watch.

Takeshi Hara’s term will officially start on July 1. With his vast experience and knowledge, we’re pretty excited to see what he has in store for the brand.
