It seems that we have yet another rising Filipino star to watch out for in the world of motorsports.
Meet Eduardo Coseteng, a 19-year-old race car driver who is set to enter the ADAC GT Masters series with support from RSA Motors (the official distributor of BMW in the Philippines). He will be racing a BMW M4 GT3 under Schubert Motorsport.
If his name sounds familiar, that is because he is the son of racing car champion Jody Coseteng. But don’t underestimate Coseteng’s young age—he has been participating in motorsports ever since he was a kid, starting with karting. He has multiple wins under his belt with his most notable one being the 2019 Macau Karting Grand Prix.
He then switched to single-seater racing, marking his Formula 4 debut in 2021. His first season saw him achieving one pole position, one podium finish, and three fastest laps. The fruits of his labor and his maiden win would be seen a year later at the Brands Hatch Circuit in England.
He ended last year with his first taste of sports car racing. At the Gulf 12 Hours at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi in December 2022, he and his team managed to finish eighth in the GT3 Pro-Am class with a BMW M4 GT3.
His campaign with Schubert Motorsport will mark his first-ever full season in GT racing. With his familiar machinery, we are confident that the young Coseteng will bag several podiums and wins.
