Can sports cars exist for a cause?

These passionate owners certainly think so

When you talk about people—men, especially—who are obsessed with sports cars, you immediately think of hedonistic individuals that are interested only in themselves and their pleasure. But what if we told you that there is a group of car lovers that gathers annually to celebrate sports cars and to support scholars?

That, in essence, is the purpose of “Sports Cars for a Cause,” a charity-driven project that raises funds for students of the Sisters of Mary School. On Sunday (8am to 12nn), February 23, car clubs—spearheaded by the BGC Car Club—will assemble at 4th Avenue and 27th Street (near Seven/NEO) in Bonifacio Global City to parade and exhibit their cool automobiles.

Already in its sixth year, the assembly has “Timeless and Tomorrow” for its theme this weekend.

It is expected that over 200 sports cars will show up. PHOTOS FROM SPORTS CARS FOR A CAUSE

The participating car clubs/groups are:

  • BGC Car Club
  • Porsche Club Philippines
  • Manila Sports Car Club
  • Ferrari Owners Club Philippines
  • Miata Club Phils
  • Supercar Club
  • Southside Sports Car Club

So, if you have nothing to do Sunday morning, we suggest you bring the family or the gang for this spectacular event. We hear there are “over 200 sports cars” that are expected to show up. Give your favorite pastime a noble cause, why don’t you?
